The Seam in the Fabric

I recently picked up some Alexander Henry Farmdale in red floral - about 3 yards. I knew when I bought it that it could have been irregular, and paid a fair price for for the fabric. Halfway through the cut, I found this.

Can you see the seam running through the fabric as two pieces of cotton were sewn together? I guess I had never really thought about how fabric was printed; of course fabric would be printed in longer sections than the 20 yards in a bolt.

And here's the back view of the seam. This was the first time I had come across this and found it to be kind of interesting - I hope you do, too.
