Paper Piecing

Jennifer asked for assorted flying geese for her month in our Quilting Bee. I have to say that I'd never done paper piecing and was a bit intimidated at the prospect. That said, I've been admiring the lovely Circle of Geese blocks that I've seen on Flickr and decided that this was as good a time as any to try it out. I used the pattern found here.

The Sometimes Crafter had a great step-by-step on how to piece this block together. I was a bit lost at first, but after putting the first quarter of it together, the other three pieced up in under 15 minutes each. The hardest part was working from the back of the pattern, but other than that, paper piecing was not as difficult as I feared it would be.

I do love this block - much more angular than is typically my style, but now I'm itching to create a quilt for myself using this pattern.

It really IS a lovely block and yours is a very nice one - love the colours!
I have made several of them now (not been blogging about it, sorry) for a block swap I participate in.
