One of Those Days

Four hours. Sprout screamed for four hours yesterday. She's usually a great night sleeper and has set her own bedtime for about 6:15pm, which is lovely because it gives DGB and me time to get The Bean to sleep at 7:30pm before being able to enjoy a lovely child-free evening. After boycotting her afternoon nap, I had anticipated that bedtime would be early and welcome for my sweet girl. Alas, an overtired Sprout had different plans and alternated crying and whining from 4-8pm.

By the end of the evening, I was fried. DGB questioned why I didn't go to bed at a reasonable hour, but after a day like that, I really needed some personal time. I curled up in bed, turned on some mindless TV, and finally started on the binding of the quilt for Sprout's nursery. I've made a few crib quilts so far, some of which are for sale in the shop, but all of them are machine bound. I honestly hadn't realized how easy (and soothing, the way doing basic crochet stitches is) to do. It's going so quickly and looks great. I can't wait to finish this quilt and get it in her room.

In the meantime, I'm feeling a lot more calm as I work on this thing, especially since The Bean and Sprout are napping quietly at the same time today, giving me extra time to zen out with my quilt and my TiVo.
